what | religion & belief.

Discrimination law protects people’s right to hold (& not hold) a religion or deeply held philosophical belief.

Religion generally refers to commonly recognized religions such as Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism but courts can determine that it covers many more. It doesn’t have to be a mainstream & it can include denominations & sects.

The courts are always testing which beliefs qualify for protection for example is veganism a protected belief? What about belief in climate change?

The point is that if you hold a religion or express a belief & are treated badly because of it you may have the right to complain & to be compensated.
